There are a couple of reasons why I LOVE a first look.

The first is that it gives the couple the opportunity to share this intimate moment with each other, without the big crowd (but maybe a few peepers watching 👀).

Secondly, they have the chance to ENJOY their cocktail hour that they spent countless hours planning (and $$$ put into it as well). We get the majority of photos done before the ceremony, so they aren't spending cocktail hour whisked away for hundreds of photos.

And last but not definitely not least - seeing your partner for the first time on the day of your wedding can be an emotional and vulnerable moment. Not everyone is comfortable having all theirs guests watching it unfold during their ceremony. Sometimes, a private moment is needed before walking down that aisle with all eyes on you.

I met up with Julia & Graham at Julia's family cottage on Georgian Bay last month to do what they do best - enjoying each other's company.

What I loved most about this session was learning the history of the cottage and how it dated many years ago, along with some renovations along the way. It had absolutely stunning views of the Bay - but what was even more beautiful was witnessing the love between these two 💞

I can't believe we are not only entering mid-September, but also the very final days of summer (officially). A part of me is saying "where did it go? It barely just began!" But as I scroll through all the galleries from the past few months, I see where it went.

It was full of "I do's", champagne toasts, family gatherings, fishing off the dock - time spent with the people we love most, and I'm honestly so honored I got to be a part of your summer story.

I'm sad to see my favorite season go, but so, so happy that I got to spend it doing what sets my soul on fire - capturing a moment in time that will last forever, even when we are old and gray and our minds aren't as sharp.

Thank you for trusting me to gift these moments to you for years to come. 🥰

Mother nature was all over the place Friday, with on and off downpours of rain, which almost led to a cancelation for Austin & Jacky's engagement session. We decided to go ahead with it anyway, and thankfully we did because although we arrived at Manitou Ridge in pouring rain, it subsided just in time for us to start shooting - leaving nothing but moody skies and love in the air 😍🌦

Monday evening of the long weekend looked like this: a boat ride to Nikki’s parents’ cottage, a golden beach sunset, and a maternity session that made my heart so full.

I first photographed Rob & Nikki when they were expecting Rayna, who is now 3 years old and full of spark. This time, she joined them for beach snuggles, a tiny tea party in the rocks, and a chilly but beautiful dip in the bay with her mama.

11°C, the Georgian Bay wind in the air, and all the warmth in the world between them. These are the moments I live for 🥰

Monday evening of the long weekend looked like this: a boat ride to Nikki’s parents’ cottage, a golden beach sunset, and a maternity session that made my heart so full.

I first photographed Rob & Nikki when they were expecting Rayna, who is now 3 years old and full of spark. This time, she joined them for beach snuggles, a tiny tea party in the rocks, and a chilly but beautiful dip in the bay with her mama.

11°C, the Georgian Bay wind in the air, and all the warmth in the world between them. These are the moments I live for 🥰

Bridget & Colin pulled off the ultimate wedding day pivot. They had planned to have a beautiful outdoor wedding, but Mother Nature had other plans and it was a torrential down pour the entire day. They weren't about to let a little rain dappen their plans so they moved it indoors and made it absolutely stunning - like it was meant to be this way all along! 😍

Bridget & Colin pulled off the ultimate wedding day pivot. They had planned to have a beautiful outdoor wedding, but Mother Nature had other plans and it was a torrential down pour the entire day.
